Dr. T. Colin Campbell's Talk

[06:52] One of the reasons in talking about veganism, people have changed their diet in one way, that is not eat animals. Yes, but they haven't really changed their diet so they get the best benefit.

[07:49] And what is shows, unfortunately, is that the amount of fat in the diet of all these three people, the vegetarians, vegans, and animal eaters is the same. It's almost remarkably identical.

[08:24] Don't add back a lot of oil. That's really key and unfortunately what this shows here that although people switch into the vegan diet because they want to actually care for the animals, but reason obviously they're not changing the diet as much as they can in order to reverse advanced diseases.

[12:18] As we consume more protein, we have more cancer.

[15:20] cancer is a nutritional disease as not really a genetic disease.

[15:25] So you can see here the idea that we could turn on and turn off cancer. This was done back in the 1970s.

[16:43] We get cancer when our nutrition changes, what are dietary changes.

[19:22] The nutrition textbooks we use, in my view, not entirely accurate.

[22:57] If we have the right kind of food to get the right kind of nutrition we're going to get the right kind of health.

[24:15] I'm talking about the whole food plant-based diet, that is the answer to what is good nutrition. There's no question about that.

[24:44] we don't need to eat animal protein to get our protein.

[25:03] We get all the protein we need from plant foods.

[25:22] Antioxidants, complex carbohydrates, vitamins, you know, thousands and thousands of those kinds of content. Basically, they are all in plants and these nutrients right here. This is what makes us healthy.

[26:11] Animals foods are vastly different from plant foods. When we started eating animal foods because we believe for should what happens, we're increasing protein. That's a bad deal. That increases cancer and heart disease, a number of other things.

[26:56] When we're consuming animal foods, we're getting harmed from two sources. Number one, we're getting harm from the protein itself and secondly, we're getting harm we're not eating the foods that actually counteract that.

[29:53] Eating the right kinds of foods, deal with all the diseases simultaneously.

[29:24] It doesn't affect just breast cancer, it doesn't affect just heart disease. It turns out it basically controls all these diseases

[30:34] You can see changes in a week or two leaves. It's amazing. You cholesterol drops like a rock.

[31:24] We can use this diet to treat disease.

[33:24] It doesn't make any difference what country you're in, what racial group you're in, whatever our size or our gender or age. This diet works across the board. It was really truly amazing.

[37:35] Vitamin E increases spoke by 74 percent.

[37:44] Calcium and vitamin D increase cardiovascular death, heart disease

[38:07] When you take the nutrients out of food and put it in a pill, that is different. You’re not going to see the benefits. You have to eat the whole foods.

[39:07] Study-- as they increase their consumption of animal protein, breast cancer goes up.

[41:11] As you can increase consumption of skim for in your risk for prostate cancer is going to go there, same as it did for women for uterine cancer and breast cancer and so forth.

[41:54] Heart diseases are caused by consuming animal protein and all of that goes with it.

[42:55] The way to stop the problems is to stop eating animal foods.

[43:31] Nutrition is not taught in medical schools…. But yet, people look to the doctors for information on nutrition.

[44:40] So not only do doctors not get trained in this, they're not allowed to get reimbursement if they do want to get this, and so those two ideas have really limited the ability of the public to know this.

[45:01] Those of us determining how much nutrients we should be consuming. Those of us in policy development has been doing a very bad job.

[45:25] Five to six percent of our diet is enough protein to meet our nutritional needs.

[45:59] But the recommended dietary allowance is around nine or ten percent. That ideal level can be supplied by any plant-based diet.

[51:14] Whole-food plant-based diet does more for your health than all the pills and procedures combined
